Not all Pine Bark Extract is created equal.

New Zealand’s pristine growing environment, coupled with the exclusive patented water-only processing technology, provides a virtually unlimited and clean supply of raw material.

The Source

It’s well known that New Zealand is one of the developed world’s most untouched sources for naturally grown, organic products, and this is primarily due to its unique geography and history.

Being an isolated island nation with unique fauna, flora, soil and biologic diversity, it has remained largely untouched. As human development has expanded, New Zealand has been one of the first to create stringent standards for environmental regulation and protection—particularly since 1991 with the passing of the Resource Management Act. Because the vast pine forests are managed on an environmentally sustainable basis, the supply is consistent and stable. As the pines are all of the same genetically homogeneous plant stock, and grow for 25-30 years before felling, this guarantees a homogeneous starting material and contributes to the guaranteed quality of the High OPC pine bark extract composition.

Pristine Environment. Ideal Growing Conditions. Sustainable Quality.

New Zealand’s status as a world leader in traceability and as a clean, unpolluted source of actives comes with great effort. Lobbying groups have had to fight for strict policies regarding genetically modified organisms (GMOs) as well as bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) quarantine to achieve a disease free status (EU’s Cat. 1 status). As a result of these efforts, our high OPC PBE is extracted to meet the properties listed above.

Since the 1980s the levels of ozone in the southern hemisphere have thinned, creating unique atmospheric conditions for the region, with elevated levels of UV-B sunlight.

Because the yearly average hours of sunshine exceeds 2,000, this elevated exposure induces a unique response from the exposed flora. The plant yields provide higher levels of biologically active and beneficial compounds compared to identical cultivars grown in other regions of the world.

Additionally, the abundant, consistent rainfall on the North Island assures constant growth unmatched in any other part of the world. The climate qualifies as a marine west coast (with no dry season, and a warm summer), with a cool temperate steppe biozone. The soil in the area is high in andosols (richly fertile and relatively young), composed of dark-colored volcanic materials.
